Reach Truck
A reach truck is used to pile up supplies, pallets of goods, and to keep storage areas tidy. The reach truck is available in several kinds: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The stand-up is the most basic. The forks of the truck slide beneath the pallet and move it to the right storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This kind of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are one pallet in depth.
The double-deep reach truck is like the stand-up, but is best for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This particular version has telescopic forks designed to place the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet must go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the additional advantage of being able to not just slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This particular version is best in situations where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Within the majority of warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile firms utilize various kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and could maximize available storage space while increasing productivity.
