Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic forklift units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck providing great height and versatility. The crane, or arm, is called a telescopic boom. The boom enables the operator to lift the cargo to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Regular forklifts aren't able to move the load towards and away from the forklift cab, whereas a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly used in agriculture and construction. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is needed.
In cases needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that allow the operator to apply uniform clamping force when lifting a cargo. It is available with a backrest that protects the loads from damage.
A sleep sheet lift truck will often use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is useful for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A lift platform that is meant to raise employees is known as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a chain or strap is utilized to attach the basket to the lift truck carriage. The platform has railings to protect the workers from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the worker's safety harness.
