Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk along the machinery as they pick up and transport loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances in manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are highly maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to pick up and move tall or unstable loads because there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the perfect answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of transporting cargo from point A to point B. If though, you should transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is specifically designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which can operate in aisles of less than six feet. They are very handy pieces of machine during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
