You might have to lubricate the mast strip sliding surfaces if the sliding surfaces are binding. Also lubricate their fittings, because there is a fitting located on either side of the inner mast. Forks
The tines need to be checked for wear, cracks and damage because cracked or worn forks can fail with out any warnings. Of course, any damaged fork means immediately taking the truck out of service. If the cracks are deeper than just on the surface, they have to be replaced because they truly can't be safely fixed.
